SUMMER READS: JULY 2014.

Since I love reading, and at the Summer time I am free, I get so excited for the books. Might sound weird, but when I am at school, I have no energy for reading. I hardly get up from the bed. Anyways, I thought about what I could write about and I decided to write few book recommendations. Maybe there are some books fans, so here we go!

1. Post Office is a novel written by Charles Bukowski. - Very easy to read, fun, full of good quotes, interesting and absolutely raw. I really liked it, of course It is not a masterpiece, but it was easy to read,so... I would rate it 4/5. Some of the quotes that i liked are:

“I wanted the whole world or nothing.”

“In the morning it was morning and I was still alive.
Maybe I'll write a novel, I thought.
And then I did.”

“Courage comes from the belly - all else is desperation.”

2. The Book Thief is a novel by Australian author Markus Zusak.  - I must admit, it took me a long time to read this book since I totally forgot about it. But when I got into it, I couldn't stop. It was beautiful. Just beautiful. I recommend this to you 100%. I doubt you'll hate it. You maybe won't love it so so so much, but you sure will like it. Also an easy read! BUT, it is quite emotional. Just so you know. Also, if you read any of these books, feel free to comment. And also, Movie was filmed like a year ago, so I think it is better to read book first. It is simply magical so don't ruin it with a movie (I am not saying that movie is bad or anything since i did not watch it, but in my opinion it is always better to read the book first)

“The only thing worse than a boy who hates you: a boy that loves you.”

3.  City of Thieves is a 2008 historical fiction novel by David Benioff. - This is one of my favorite books. I read this long time ago, and I still love it. I don't know how popular this is but one this is for sure: this is MUST READ!
It really really is. It is about World War II, and it is all happening in Russia. I won't say anything else. It is just amazing book, really interesting and you just want to read more and more. I was so sad when i finished. It is just epic, and so worth reading.

“You don't like the girl. You don't know what color eyes she has, you don't like her.”

“I was like a well trained pianist who knows which note to hit, but can't make the music his own.”

4. Sputnik Sweetheart (スプートニクの恋人, Supūtoniku no Koibito) is a novel by Haruki Murakami, published in Japan. - Well, Haruki is one of my favorite writers and every book that i read touched me in a special way. I don't know why I love this writer so much. For me he has a special place in heart. Maybe because he is Japanese. Who knows. But anyways, i included this book because it was so simple yet so complicated. It kinda confuses you (that happens all the time in Murakami's books) yet everything is crystal clear. I don't know. It just that always happens something weird. This book is such an easy read. I am aware it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is worth trying. A lot of people really like Murakami, so check it out.

“I dream. Sometimes I think that's the only right thing to do.”

"Sometimes I feel so- I don’t know - lonely. The kind of helpless feeling when everything you’re used to has been ripped away. Like there’s no more gravity, and I’m left to drift in outer space with no idea where I’m going’
Like a little lost Sputnik?’
I guess so.”

5. Infidel is a New York Times bestseller, the autobiography of Ayaan Hirsi Ali. - This book can be described in one word: Powerful. Powerful indeed. I read this and i was amazed. This book is so informative, interesting and shocking. You really can see and feel how people live in some other parts of the world. Since i read this when I was about 15 years old, it really opened my eyes and changed my prospective. I realized a lot of things. In this book, you can read about topics that are not discussed very often. And that is the reason why it is so great. I think every woman should read this, and I think every woman can learn something from it.

“As a woman you are better off in life earning your own money. You couldn't prevent your husband from leaving you or taking another wife, but you could have some of your dignity if you didn't have to beg him for financial support.”

“As a reader, I could put on someone else's shoes and live through his adventures, borrow his individuality and make choices that I didn't have at home.”

If you read any of these books, feel free to comment, also leave some recommendations too! If you are interested I can make part Two.
